Nantes is a lovely city on the banks of the Loire River. Recently restored, the Castle of the Dukes of Brittany stands proudly opposite a monument to the city's industrial past, the LU biscuit factory, which today has been converted into a first-class cultural facility. Former shipyards and industrial workshops have also been converted into attractions and nightlife spots.
