About the area:

Downtown Minneapolis is one of the largest theatrical centers in the country, second only to New York City. The enclosed skyway system weaves through the main part of downtown so one can stroll in comfort even during those long Minnesota winters.

In addition to the theatre world, Downtown Minneapolis is also the proud home of the Minnesota Timberwolves, Twins and Vikings. Downtown's First Avenue is the place to be to see up and coming musical artists, and many popular stars' concerts are held across the street at the Target Center. Downtown Minneapolis is part of School District #1.

Minneapolis, "The City of Lakes," encompasses 22 lakes and 170 parks. The chain of lakes offers recreational opportunities including windsurfing, canoeing, biking and in-line skating. But most visitors are drawn by the entertainment and cultural events. For a "small town," Minneapolis offers an amazing variety of experiences.
