About the area:
Coronado is a small "island" town in San Diego Bay. Coronado Village features quaint streets lined with boutiques, shops and restaurants. There is an island bike path, two Marinas, golf course and a full range of accommodations. It is also home to the legendary Hotel del Coronado and the Naval Amphibious Base at North Island.
Wide and not crowded, Coronado beaches are the perfect outdoor playgrounds for kids and adults. Central Beach is a great spot for ship watching – San Diego is the home port for the U. S. Navy’s Pacific fleet, and whales may be seen December through February as they migrate south to Mexico.
Tidelands Park features children’s playgrounds, skateboard park, fitness course, ball fields, picnic tables, restrooms and free public parking. Glorietta Bay includes a boat launch ramp, park, playground, restrooms and free parking. Paddleboats, sailboats, jet skis and deep sea fishing rentals are available.
