About the area:
St. Charles is the original Missouri State Capitol and the olderst city on the Missouri River. Lewis and Clark began their expedition here in 1804. St. Charles is also home to the St. Louis Mills Mall, which opened in November 2003, and the Ameristar Casino St. Charles, new in 2002.
Recommended day trips include touring St. Charles' numerous wineries and walking, biking or rollerblading the Katy Trail State Park.
