About the area:
The Village of Shorewood is located in Milwaukee County and is the first suburb north of the City of Milwaukee on Lake Michigan. At just over 1.5 square miles, it is bounded on the west by the Milwaukee River, and the Village of Whitefish Bay to the north.
Residential, commercial and industrial development which has occurred in Glendale, has enhanced the beauty of the area with its natural barriers created by the railroads and highways, and by the Milwaukee River, which meanders through the community and through the two Milwaukee County parks within the city limits.
There are two Lake Michigan beaches for sunning and swimming in Whitefish Bay. Klode Park, located on North Shore Drive, is owned by the Village of Whitefish Bay and offers a spectacular view of the Bay.
