On Wednesday, Apple unveiled its latest tablet - the iPad Air - and it has many businessmen and women buzzing that it might be the best travel gadget to ever hit the market. Rather than focusing on its techinical aspects, designers committed to creating a lighter, thinner and smaller iPad Air that's perfect for bringing on planes, Travel and Leisure reported.
While developers' main focus was on reducing the device's size, they did not completely ignore its other aspects. In addition to an improved camera, designers also added an impressive 10 hour battery life and faster web browsing.
"The name change is likely intentional. Everything that Apple articulates it does for a reason," Will Power, an analyst at RW Baird, told USA Today. "Developing an iPad that is better designed for productivity is something that could very well make sense."
Business travelers'' devices are second in importance only to their lodging - be it corporate housing or serviced apartments - and this new release may be a game changer for some professionals on the go. The iPad Air will go on sale sometime in November.
