JetBlue to provide unhappy voters with a free vacation

November 6 is fast approaching, with millions of Americans expected to hit the polls in support of either Barack Obama or Mitt Romney in this year's presidential election. No matter who wins, it is safe to assume that more than a few of the losing candidate's supporters will go to bed unhappy. Some of them may even need a vacation – something JetBlue is happy to provide.

The airline recently announced the launch of its new Election Protection promotion. Essentially, if a voter's candidate is not elected president, JetBlue is making them eligible for a free trip to any one of the carrier's 21 international destinations. All they have to do is visit the promotion's website and select their preferred presidential candidate.

"We've all heard it said before: if my candidate does not win, I'm leaving the country," said Marty St. George, JetBlue's senior vice president of marketing and commercial strategy. "Fun is one of our five founding values, and in this spirit we decided to give people a chance to recover from the political noise and follow through on their claim to skip town if their candidate comes up short."

No matter where in the world disgruntled voters end up going after November 6, staying in serviced apartments may be just one more way to enhance their vacation and forget all about the results of the election.
