Serviced apartments prove to be popular accommodations Down Under

For vacationers, there are many benefits to choosing a rental over a hotel. According to USA Today, spaces such as condos and serviced apartments typically come with fully equipped kitchens that can prevent travelers from overspending at high-priced restaurants. Furthermore, these spaces tend to be larger, which allows more people to split costs and enjoy a more affordable vacation.

Whether or not visitors to Australia agree with these benefits, something is drawing more vacationers to short term rental apartments in the Land Down Under, The Australian reported. Over the course of the past decade, the number of nights individuals have spent in Australian serviced apartments has increased by 73 percent and now exceeds 2 million.

Today, more than 20 percent of guests' nights in Australia are spent in serviced apartments. Part of these accommodations' appeal is the level of convenience they offer travelers. Many of these individuals enjoy the more spacious feel of an apartment and the space it provides their children. While the thought of saving money on meals by cooking in a kitchen is appealing to some, others enjoy that they can do their own washing.
