Staying Fit Around Housing Near ACC Liverpool

Staying fit during travel can be difficult even if your extended-stay apartment in Liverpool offers on-site facilities. Here are some travel fitness tips.

Liverpool Waterfront

For many, vacation means one thing: indulging. You may chow down on four-course meals, order that extra glass of wine and skip out on the gym for another hour of channel-surfing. When you’re on a longer trip, however, your conscience may eventually catch up with you and urge you to get back on track with your diet and exercise.

If you’re staying in housing near ACC Liverpool, there are plenty of opportunities to get active while also taking in the sights. The neighborhood around the Arena and Convention Centre Liverpool is rife with ways to keep your heart pumping without losing that vacation feel.

When you’re at home, you may prefer to hit the gym every day, but in Liverpool, hit the pavement! The Convention Centre sits right on the River Mersey. You can run, jog or walk along the water, catching the breeze as you go. Cut over onto Water Street to head into the downtown area, where you can fly past the World Museum, art galleries, Central Library and St. George’s Hall. Head back past Liverpool Cathedral and back to the docks for an almost 4-mile expedition. You will have burned calories and gotten a dose of Liverpool culture.

Nearby Sefton Park is also a great place to get your cardio and conditioning in. The 235-acre park boasts a popular jogging circuit, where locals and visitors alike hit the winding paths. You won’t just see trees as you jog; the park is home to an assortment of historic statues and structures, which can give you a taste of Liverpool history as you work up an appetite. A number of exercise groups also meet up at Sefton Park, including British Military Fitness.

The group is led by military vets who put their intense physical training to use helping you get (or stay) in shape. Each week, participants form teams and compete in games, as well as practice strength training, running and other exercises. New members get a free trial class so you can always check it out before making a commitment; if it’s not for you, at least you got some exercise, and if it is, then you’ve found a great workout option during your trip, plus will likely make great connections you’ll keep after you leave Liverpool.

Whether you’re in town for business, pleasure or a little bit of both, take advantage of all the unique exercise opportunities near your extended-stay apartment in Liverpool to stay active and engaged.
