The Markthalle was constructed in 1929. Until as recent as 2004, the dome was used as a market place for merchants exchanging their goods for a living. This cultural and historical land mark of the City of Basel is an attraction per se and has lived the history of Basel. Between 2009 and 2012, the dome was completely renovated and a modern 12 story building added, creating a spectacular location for urban living. The apartment includes a generous lounge and dining space, a nicely sized kitchen to create fabulous meals for friends and family and spacious child or guest bedroom and finally a warm and inviting bedroom, comfortably furnished facing away from any noise a road could produce, ensuring a quiet rest and optimal ambience for a perfect regeneration. The apartment also includes a washer/dryer, an en-suite bathroom as well as a separate guest toilet and shower room. Markthalle is the most central location to set-up your tent, offering a hand full of positive aspects to simply enjoy.
